Dog Breeders Houston Area
Leopard Geckos (Houston / College Station)?

I was at a friends and it has 2 leopard geckos … I do not know why but I fell in love with them. Does anyone know of any breeders of leopard geckos mainly in the Bryan / station area college? If this is not Houston is my hometown, so I can pick them up when I drive there. I plan to get 1 or 2 (men + Female, if 2) – it will be bad if I'm alone? Is it better if they have a companion? what light source should I get for them? I read until they do not come from any UV Tips greatly appreciated – im used to care for dogs and cats, not so much reptiles amphibians

Gecko-Crash Course: The geckos are reptiles solitary meeting up in the wild than to fight or mate. Both situations can lead to injury. Two males can not be housed together. Once they reach reproductive maturity around 4-6 mo. age, they will fight and inflict serious injury or even death. A woman must be at least one year and First Health / condition to be high. Eggs inside its body are enormous compared to her. She will need extra care while posing, and a lot of calcium. http://www.vmsherp.com/LCBreedingLeopards.htm http://www.anapsid.org/lepgeckbreed.html breeding males mature earlier than females. This is not a good idea of the house of a couple together because the male can mate the female before she is old enough to be raised safely. Laying severely depletes a woman. A female being harassed by a male. This may cause stress leading to weight loss, lack of appetite and / or illness. It is recommended that you allow at least two females per male. A female can produce up to 20 laying eggs in one spawning season (multiply each additional female X). Once high removing the male will not stop it. It will store the sperm in her body and continue to gain weight without being present. The eggs will come every 2-3 weeks. 2 both. This means they will not hatch at the same time. 1-3 in size as babies can be housed together, but older / Brothers and sisters will eat larger smaller / weaker. So be prepared to provide many mini-habitats in which heat, water, the skin of moisture, etc. and babies eat a lot. Have a point of sale / houses built for your offspring before they begin to reproduce. Geckos can be very prolific. The recommended space for a single adult Leo is a girl 20. long. I would recommend a 30 L for 2, and 55 L for a trio. Breeder / reptile tanks are much better than the aquarium because they provide more floor space, to be held later. Even Leos females are territorial, so they must be monitored. Fights may occur between animals that have lived together 5 years. and suddenly, they must be separated. More space – the best hope for harmony. Bahavior Leo: They http://www.drgecko.com/behaviours.htm have teeth (not the best film, but keep the leg): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cov-cDYS6_c If they can do that to you – imagine what they can do to each other. I am not intimating that Leos are wicked. Generally, they are not people at all. They do wonderful pets. But they can inflict serious damage to another. So I strongly recommend that you only get a Leo if you're interested in a pet quality, or do more research before starting as a breeder. UVB is controversial, but if you study up on these adorable creatures, you'll see they have short active periods during the day equivalent to exposure to sunlight. I provide 4-5 hr. UVB daily for Leos by my veterinarian recommendation. http://www.uvguide.co.uk/ Http://www.anapsid.org/maincaptive.html Babies should be kept on paper towels, and adults on short pile carpets reptile older newspaper, wrapping paper brown; shirt non adhesive shelf, or slightly textured tile (not smooth or shiny). Here's an idea decoration. Please note the tile in the tank (and also the eggs with the Lion in the 2nd pic): Please http://hubpages.com/hub/Fake-Rock-Instructional Never keep your gecko on sand or soft substrate and do not feed the meal to babies or insects of a size incorrectly: Crickets http://hubpages.com/hub/Impaction should be the staple food because they can easily be loaded with nutrients for your wonderful gut Leo. Babies should be fed daily, and adults every two days. Once your baby is 3-4 mo. old, you can complement and add variety element including 1-2 Butter, silk or Phoenix to 2-3 times a week. Avoid wax worms. Insects should be dusted with vitamins, reptiles and calcuim powdered D3 (the the refrigerator to prolong the life of vitamins) every two days for the babies, and 2 times a week for adults. http://hubpages.com/hub/Metabolic_Bone_Disease http://www.dachiu.com/care/abeard.html Remember, with proper care, your new pet can live 20 years. or more (the current record holder was 27). Good luck and enjoy your new pet. I hope this was helpful.
