My dog died tragically / suddenly what means of honoring her memory to help my children and myself cope?
My dog died tragically Friday only 4 1 / 2 years. Needless to say my family is in shock and in the morning. We buried him in the court on Saturday, but not all children were present (because of current living conditions). I would appreciate suggestions on how to honor our lost pet, so that all family members are present. Or is it better to do nothing? Should we have a small jewelry box to hold his collar to on the mantelpiece? I've never dealt with the loss of a pet with small children. Their ages 17 to 7. Thank you very much.
Honestly, I would take a tombstone with the name and dates on it. I would like to bring children together for an album of his life and regret that you also celebrate his life and when you've had with you. Jump on the Web and read the Rainbow Bridge Poem and print and frame it. Enlarging a pic of him and keep it framed for all to see. Know he will always be in your heart. I lost 2 and it is never easy. I think these things have helped some. Get a memory box for their things and keep his fav place in the home in the box memory. Also make sure the box is a memory box memory have each child record their fav memory of him and deposited in the box with his stuff. So sorry for your loss.
