Is this a big deal to change the name of a dog?
I am adopting a dog and he is 3 years. I have another name, I want to the call. Do you think it would upset him if I change his name? Can he learn a new name? PS: I have a hunch the name of this dog has already been amended several times because he had only one owner (name # 1), then was dumped in a pound that owner, then was rescued by this organization which I am adopting him and they named him something when they had (name # 2)
Change name of a dog is not a big problem, especially if it comes with a new home. They do not really understand it their name, just that noise usually accompanies anything to them. Your dog will quickly learn that this particular sound (his new name) is what you call it.
