How to discourage puppy biting?
Hi parents of my sister (and) a new 10 week old gold and it is chilly (like puppies do) and we need to stop the train. Its been over 7 years I have gone through the puppy stage and I do not remember "exactly" what to do to convince her to stop. These sharp little teeth draw blood faster than you can react – we all look for something a horror movie. any advice much appreciated. they have enrolled in courses puppy first week of October by the way ….
I have an 11-week old Puggle, and it is a little clip with sharp teeth too wild. What I do today is based on what I remember the formation of a dog I had in college. We have done several things at once: 1) First, we yell "Ouch" or "ouch" when he does, for overtime it will learn that ow "was a bad thing and associate it with" no ". 2) We say "no bite": puppies tend to revert to "no", but they also need to learn the word "cock" or "bite" to understand what we say no to. And finally … 3) We take the puppies mouth and keep it closed for a second (more or less, of course) to once again help to understand what we say no to. If the dog continues to bite you after you tell him no, he must punish him (I usually give him 2 or 3 times before doing so). We Punish by placing it in the laundry room alone for a minute or two … in general after he groaned for a minute. The room you have set it should not be frightening or confined (as a darkroom), but it should not have toys, food or water (he can not entertain himself with) and it should not be a place that is supposed to enjoy being. An important tip in training is to not use all the procedures (particularly "Come here") when you punish him. If you do, then it is going to hesitate to respond to the command later when you are simply tell him to come up to you, or go for a walk. Just to get him and take him to the room. Training is a long process, especially in some thing like that bite is a natural instinct / reaction for dogs. It will take time for the puppy does not learn to respond with biting, it will not stop instantly.
